Cutler room

Enjoy the peace and quiet afforded by this genteel second floor guest room done in a muted floral motif. Gaze at the monuments and imagine the events that unfolded here in July, 1863 from your westward facing windows. Our most frequently requested guest room, the Cutler Room enjoys one of the largest bathrooms in the house as well as a beautiful hand-painted Queen size bed.

Major General Lysander Cutler, USA. Commander of the 2nd Brigade of the 1st Division of the First Corps. On July 1, 1863, Cutler’s troops were deployed south of the Doubleday Inn to the Cashtown Road, withstanding multiple Confederate attacks from the west and the north.
